Medicago claims that it can start a production of a viable vaccine candidate for COVID-19

The biopharma company Medicago successfully produced Virus-Like Particles (VLP) of the coronavirus in just 20 days using proprietary plant-based technology Medicago’s platform can produce both vaccine and antibody candidates against COVID-19 disease.

Medicago, a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Quebec City, announced today that they have successfully produced a Virus-Like Particle (VLP) of the coronavirus just 20 days after obtaining the SARS-CoV-2 (virus causing the COVID-19 disease) gene.

President of Estonia Makes Historic Voyage and Manages State Affairs from Antarctica over the Iridium Network

In commemoration of the 200-year anniversary of Antarctica discovery by Estonian born Admiral Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen, Her Excellency Kersti Kaljulaid, President of the Republic of Estonia, made her successful expedition to Antarctica. President Kaljulaid’s efforts included managing state affairs in real-time from Antarctica and signing digital legally binding documents from the polar areas using the weather resilient Iridium Certus specialty satellite broadband service.

The trip to Antarctica began on January 27th with the President returning to Estonia on January 31st.

Yanmar and Nauti-Craft Sign Technology Transfer Agreement for Using Marine Suspension Technology

Yanmar and Nauti-Craft announced that both companies have entered into a technology transfer agreement with the purpose of commercializing Yanmar’s boats by utilizing Nauti-Craft’s patented marine suspension technology.

Cooperation between Yanmar and Nauti-Craft began in 2016 with Yanmar evaluating the technology by constructing a 10-meter Suspension Boat concept. Yanmar showcased the concept boat at the Japan International Boat Show in Yokohama in March 2018 where it was widely appreciated and confirmed the marketability of the technology.

VIDEO: Wuhan to build 1,000 bed hospital to treat coronavirus patients within six days

Construction began on the night of January 23 for a new specialized hospital for coronavirus patients in central China's Wuhan City. The hospital is designed to have an area of 25,000 square meters with 1,000 beds and will be put into use by February 3, officials said.

The special hospital is being built in the Caidian District in the western suburb of the city.

Analysis of 163 industry sectors and their supply chains found that over half of the world’s GDP is moderately or highly dependent on nature and its services. Pollination, water quality and disease control are three examples of the services an ecosystem can provide.
