Estonia-Based Company Pushing Cloud Manufacturing Limits
Estonia-based manufacturing startup Fractory has established themselves as one of the leading cloud manufacturing platforms. Spending the last years playing catch-up with platforms that have been on the market for a longer time, they are now introducing a first-in-the-world solution.
Fractory became the first cloud manufacturing platform in the world able to process 3D models for quoting tube cutting instantly. While getting a quote in the traditional way - sending out RFQs with drawings - takes a few days, the automated pricing takes only a few seconds.

ABB to power the world’s largest diamond recovery vessel for De Beers
ABB wins contract from Damen Shipyards Group to deliver an advanced power system for the world’s first custom-built diamond recovery vessel.
ABB will supply an integrated power system package that will ensure the world’s largest and most technologically advanced diamond recovery vessel meets exceptional safety, efficiency and availability requirements. The vessel is being built by Damen at Damen Shipyards Mangalia on the Black Sea in Romania. Financial details of the order were not disclosed.
8 autonomous robots can transport more than 2,000 parts per day
They cover 240 kilometers a day and share the streets with pedestrians, lorries, bicycles and cars. They control the traffic lights, communicate with their surroundings... but when you see them you won’t see anyone driving them. These autonomous vehicles are called AGV (automated guided vehicles) and drive around outside the workshops of the SEAT plant in Martorell.
Latvia and Estonia Place Orders for Carl-Gustaf M4
Saab has received orders from Latvian Armed Forces and Estonian Armed Forces for deliveries of Carl-Gustaf M4. Deliveries will take place in 2021-2024.
The orders are placed within a framework agreement signed by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) in June 2019, which allows Sweden, Latvia and Estonia to place orders for Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon systems during a ten-year period.
