FACTUREE wins INDUSTRY 4.0 AWARD for innovative procurement model
Der Online-Fertiger FACTUREE (www.facturee.de) has won the “INDUSTRIE 4.0 AWARD 2023” in the “Manufacturing Platform” category. The international operations consultancy ROI-EFESO has been honoring the pioneers of industrial digitalization with this globally renowned industry award since 2013. FACTUREE receives the award for its innovative form of procurement: online production. This model creates flexibility, reliability and independence and enables the digitalization of purchasing in the industry.
FACTUREE takes first place in the “Manufacturing Platform” category of the INDUSTRIE 4.0 AWARD. Top-class decision-makers from the industry form the jury panel. This makes its choice in an extensive application process based on anonymized project presentations, so that all companies apply for the award with the same starting conditions and opportunities.
Jury member Prof. Dr. Ulrich Löwen, Siemens Corporate Technology, explains: “One of the particularly visionary ideas in the early days of Industry 4.0 was the scenario of ‘order-controlled manufacturing’. This was actively discussed in research, but viewed with skepticism in industrial practice - in fact, a high level of complexity and an immense need for standardization stood in the way of implementation. After more than ten years, research is now receiving confirmation that in this case too, it had the right topic on the agenda with foresight. With FACTUREE, a company is now implementing this visionary idea in the market with impressive results. An award with the INDUSTRIE 4.0 AWARD is therefore more than justified. We wish FACTUREE a successful continuation of this success story.”
Christopher Walzel, Co-Founder and CTO at FACTUREE, says: “We are very pleased about this prestigious award. Our company started out of our living room in 2017 as a real early mover in the DACH region and has coined the term online manufacturing. Today FACTUREE records eight-figure sales – without investors. We operate across Europe and count companies such as Parker Hannifin, Festo and CERN among our customers. The award once again encourages us to further expand our procurement model.”
Online manufacturing as a procurement model of the future
FACTUREE has established a new form of procurement in the market with online production. It offers advantages such as always free delivery capacity, even in times of crisis, and is therefore far superior to conventional contract manufacturing. The online manufacturer enables manufacturing companies to procure production parts in a timely manner, which eliminates dependence on individual suppliers. Because FACTUREE has an extensive production network of around 2,000 manufacturing partners from almost all areas of manufacturing technology, such as CNC processing, sheet metal processing, 3D printing, casting and forging processes as well as surface technology. Around 15,000 machines are constantly available for projects.
With its network concept and the strict selection process of its manufacturing partners, FACTUREE provides diverse and highly qualified manufacturing capacities. The online manufacturer selects the most suitable provider for the respective order in terms of price, delivery time and quality based on smart algorithms. The end-to-end digitalization and automation of the ordering process leads to greater efficiency for end customers.
